Welcome to Self-Lay

What is Self-Lay?

All new developments that require new water infrastructure have two options available to them.
Contact the local Water Company to install the new requirements, or
Appoint a LRQA WIRS Accredited Self-Lay Provider (SLP) to complete the works, on behalf of the Water Company. This then allows the Self-Lay Provider to install the new water infrastructure on behalf of the Water Company, which they will then adopt as their own asset, as they would if they were to complete the installation.

Streamlining water company processes by minimising waiting times.

Self-Lay Providers like Bregan MainsFlow Ltd have successfully completed rigorous training procedures and assessments to gain the WIRS (Water Industry Registration Scheme) Accreditation.
That allows us to install new water infrastructure on behalf of all the Water Companies across the country.

What are the benefits of using a Self-Lay Provider (SLP)?

Choosing a Self-Lay Provider (SLP) to install the new water infrastructure for a new development can provide many advantages:

More competitive pricing, resulting in a more cost-effective option for the developer.

Significant reduction in lead times to assist developers with installations at short notice to adhere to their construction programme.

More flexible approach to installation. We understand new sites sometime encounter logistical issues and as a result require a more flexible option to phase the installation of new apparatus.

Effective and efficient liaison by knowledgeable and experienced professionals ensuring all interested parties are frequently updated.

Self-Lay Providers can assist with all aspects of a new installation from the initial enquiry stage, through to application and then installation. The requirement for developers to liaise with the Water Company directly can be eliminated with the SLP Project Managing the scheme.

Do I need a Self-Lay Provider (SLP)?

All new water mains & services that are due to be adopted by the Water Company must be laid by either the Water Company or an accredited LRQA Self-lay Provider (SLP). This ensures that all companies are comprehensively quality assured to a national standard.
If your development requires mains and/or service laying for a new network, a Self-Lay Provider will endeavour to deliver your project to the highest quality and standards required by the Water Companies.
